Guess what? It rained last weekend. It
rained pretty much all weekend. It was not suppose to but it
did. Only a few tracks got to run. I am getting tired of
writing about rain. Perhaps, hopefully, this weekend will be
better. At least the forecast for this weekend looked better
at the time this column was being written.
For NASCAR fans Dover International Speedway has three days of racing. On Friday, the day many of you first receive this publication, (May 30th), the NASCAR Craftsman Trucks are in action at 4 p.m. That is also the day the Winston Cup cars qualify. On Saturday the MBNA Armed Forces Family 200 Busch Series race will be run. And on Sunday there will be a 400 miler on the Monster Mile. Also sponsored by MBNA the event will have Jimmie Johnson, fresh from a win in The Winston (worth $1 million), trying for this third win in a Winston Cup event at Dover. Good news for fans and racers the section of Route 1 that has been under construction has been completed. That should make travel to the track and home from the track a lot easier. And we are told there are good tickets still available for all three days of racing. FOR THE THIRTEENTH TIME THIS SEASON Williams Grove Speedway lost an event to bad weather this past Friday. They will try again this Friday, 8 p.m., with Super Sportsman and 410 Sprints in action. It will be York County Racing Club Night.
