THREE FEATURES AT WILLIAMS GROVE JUNE 4. Williams Grove Speedway opens a busy month this Friday evening, June 4, with no less than three features on the THERE WAS GREAT JOY IN MECHANICSBURG last weekend as local sprint racers were able to send the World of Outlaw regulars on to their next stop with their tail between their legs. Fred Rahmer won the Outlaw main event on Thursday night topping Steve Kinser and earning his 400th career win (a combination of sprint and modified stock car career victories). And on Friday night it was Donnie Kreitz getting his 50th career win at Williams Grove Speedway nosing out Steve Kinser for the victory on the final lap. That win was also the ninth Outlaw career win for Kreitz and earned him $12,000. FRED RAHMER earned his 300th career sprint car victory in a midweek show at Lincoln Speedway. SHAWN HOWE won his first 410 sprint car feature race on Friday night at Clinton County Speedway during Insinger Fuels Night. Jake Shady won his first 358 Late Model feature while Greg Malek won the Pro Stock main event and Lee Zook was tops in the Enduro feature. Same type show will be presented this Friday at 7:30 p.m. In fact that is pretty much the regular Friday night attraction at the Lock Haven, PA oval. BIG DIAMOND RACEWAY saw Craig VonDohren end the domination of the NASCAR Modifieds by the Hoffman Brothers (Doug and Keith) as he won the 25-lap NASCAR Modified feature on Friday night. It was the first win of the season for VonDohren at Big Diamond and the first win of the season for anyone other than the Hoffmans. Greg Weiland was tops in the 20-lapper for Sportsman Modifieds and it was Elvin Brennan winning the Roadrunner 15-lap main event. NASCAR Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds and Roadrunners will be the attraction this Friday with racing starting at 8 p.m. It will be Dodge Night. KARS 358-360 Sprint Challenge will be part of the racing at Big Diamond on June 11th and the Super DIRT Series Big Block Modified 100 will be the attraction on June 16th. BRIDGEPORT, NJ SPEEDWAY has a special event coming up on Tuesday, June 8th at 7:30 p.m. The Big Block Modifieds will be in action in the George Wingate Classic. A 40-lap feature tops the program and this show is being listed as the GRAND OPENING EVENT of the NEW Bridgeport Speedway. Some of the top names in the sport will seen in action with Billy Pauch, Brett Hearn, Bob McCreadie, Jack Johnson and a host of others scheduled to compete. ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 9TH New Egypt Speedway tries to present another of their SuperStars of Racing Nights. Actually the first two were rained out. This one will feature appearances by former NASCAR Cup champion Dale Jarrett and his son, Jason, who races on the ARCA and Busch Series circuits. A 50-lap feature for the Big Block Modifieds will top the program with $10,000 going to the winner. SILVER SPRING SPEEDWAY and Hooters of Mechanicsburg will join forces this Saturday night, June 5th, for a benefit to support the ALS Association. Also, prizes will be given away such as Dale Earnhardt Jr. shirts, Budweiser hats, Hooters shirts, Napa hats and Napa Racing collectibles. Local restaurants have provided gift certificates as part of the raffle as well. These restaurants include Hooters, Red Lobster, Hoss’s, the Olive Garden and Silver Spring Diner. All money raised will go to the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and toward an ALS walk to be held on June 12. |
Although the event has been planned for several weeks, it comes at an appropriate time following the passing of Hank Gentzler of Hank’s Performance. “It comes at a good time as the central Pennsylvnia racing community was saddened this week by the passing of Hank Gentzler from ALS,” said Silver Spring promoter Alan Kreitzer. Super sportsman, late models and 4-cylinder stock cars will be the attraction this Saturday, June 5th with racing starting at 7 p.m. AT SILVER SPRING SPEEDWAY this past Saturday Paul Miller got by Frankie Herr on the final lap to win the Will Kreitzer Memorial for Super Sportsman and that was his first career victory. Gerry Stutting, Jr. got the win in the Late Models and it was Kory Sites got the win in the first 20-lap Street Stock feature. In the second 20 lapper for Street Stocks Mike Arnold was the winner. AT PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY Mike Wagner was able to grab the 25-lap Aumiller & Associate Sprint Car feature race. Scotty Haus grabbed the win in the 20-lap Late Model feature, John Heane won the 15 lap Stong’s Auto Parts Pro Stock main event and the 4-Cylinder race was won by Derrick Casner. Port Royal is back in action on Saturday, June 5th with sprint cars, late models, pro stocks and 4-cylinder stock cars. Racing starts at 7 p.m. FRED RAHMER added another win to his fabulous week on Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway when he took the 25-lap 410 sprint feature. He had also won the 52-lap anniversary feature for sprints on Wednesday night at Lincoln and beat the Outlaws at Williams Grove on Thursday night. The win was the 127th of his career at Lincoln. Neil Smith took the Thundercar feature for his third win of the season and it was Jason Rochelle winning the 15-lap INEX Legends feature…his second of the season at Lincoln. This Saturday, June 5th, the Mid-Season 358 Sprint Championship will be the main attraction along with the 410 sprints and Thundercars. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. GREG HODNETT decided to pass on racing at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night and headed off to challenge the World of Outlaw sprint cars at Hagerstown, MD Speedway. And Hodnett inherited the lead with two laps remaining when race long leader Steve Kinser made contact with a lapped car. Hodnett won in front of one of the largest crowds in track history for the Outlaws at Hagerstown, MD Speedway. Roy Deese Jr was able to win the 25-lap late model feature race. Stacker2 Xtreme Late Models are in action Friday night June 4th at 7 p.m. along with Late Model Sportsman. And on Saturday night the Ernie’s Pure Stocks and Enduro cars will be attractions as part of Student Night. SUSQUEHANNA SPEEDWAY has what may be the biggest event of the season for them as they present a SCHOOL BUS race featuring some of the top 410 sprint racers on June 10th plus a full show of 410 sprint car racing. Interest is running very high for this event an a huge crowd is expected. Promoter Todd Fisher tells us that there may be as many as 18 buses in action. GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY had three feature winners on Saturday night. Two time Late Model champion Lou Egrie and defending Late Model champion Randy Stoudt shared the wins in the two 20-lap features. And it was Jon Kellner Sr. winning the 30-lap NASCAR Modified feature for the second Saturday in a row. Auto Locator Magazine Night is featured at Grandview Speedway this Saturday, June 5th at 7:30 p.m. with the NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models in at least 13 events of stock car racing action. Auto Locator will post more than $800 in bonus bucks with heat winners getting $50 in both divisions, feature winners getting an extra $100 and hard chargers in each feature getting $100. It should help add some excitement to the night of racing. United Racing Club sprint cars join the modifieds at Grandview on Saturday night June 12th. AND BACK TO GRANDVIEW ON SUNDAY NIGHT to see Steve Kinser win the 35-lap feature topping Lance Dewease in the BPG Racing/Chad Sinon Motorsports Night Outlaw and Modified show. Jeff Strunk made his owner, sponsoring the race night, happy by winning the feature 25 lapper. And at Big Diamond Raceway on Sunday night it was Craig VonDohren winning the first 20 lapper for NASCAR Modifieds and Doug Hoffman getting the win in the second and third 20 lappers. Jesse Sterling won the Sportsman Modified feature and Elvin Brennan was tops in the Roadrunners. Hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend but let’s remember our troops around the world all year.
