THE WORLD OF OUTLAWS LATE MODELS (WoO) and the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) are joining forces for a special night of late model racing on Friday, September 17th at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA. This could be the biggest event in local Late Model stock car racing all season.
The originally scheduled World of Outlaws Late Model Series Lincoln Speedway show was rained out August 14th. The rescheduled event will now include the MACS Series. The program will be 50-laps, $10,000 to-win with $700 going to start. The race procedures and format at Lincoln will run under the "Outlaw" rules and procedures.
In a cooperative effort to take dirt late model racing to the next level the nation's premier dirt late model tour and the region's premier regional tour are working together for this special weekend which will include another co-sanctioned event the following night, Saturday, September 18th at Virginia Motor Speedway.
The weekend will start Friday September 17th with the World of Outlaws and MACS competitors in a co-sanctioned $10,000 to win event at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA. Both series will then head south to Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, VA for Saturday's $10,000 to win BB&T Super Late Model event.
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series Dirty Dozen of Scott Bloomquist, Rick Eckert, Steve Francis, Chub Frank, Dale McDowell, Billy Moyer, Bart Hartman, Rick Aukland, Dan Schlieper, Mike Balzano, Darrell Lanigan and Clint Smith will have their hands full with a strong contingent of MACS, regional and local dirt late model talent. Robbie Blair, Chuck Harper, Keith Barbara, Rod Conley, Denny Chamberlain lead the Macs contingent while Booper Bare, Louie Littlepage, Kenny Pettyjohn, Jeremy Miller, Steve Lucas Jimmy Bernhiesel and Sean Cosgrove will lead a group of regional and local "hotshoes" with a chance at taking home the $10,000 top prize.
THE FINAL SPRINT CAR DOUBLEHEADER of the 2004 season is scheduled for Friday evening, September 17, at Williams Grove Speedway when the (410 c.i.) sprint cars will be joined by the limited (358 c.i.) sprints. The first heat is slated to start at 8:00.
Although there is still plenty of racing left at Williams Grove before the season ends on October 16, the September 17 program will mark the final time this year that the speedway's popular handicapping procedure will be in effect.
Qualifying heats and features in both divisions will be lined up according to the drivers' earnings average at Williams Grove for the current season. That means drivers who have earned the most money start at the rear of the field in the heats and in the middle of the pack for the feature.
The Grove's handicapping system has been responsible for some tremendous racing over the years and has forced talented drivers like Fred Rahmer, Greg Hodnett and Lance Dewease to come from the fifth or sixth row or even father back on many occasions. Despite the handicapping system Rahmer has managed to win seven features, Hodnett five and Dewease two this year.
Other double winners include Kenny Jacobs, Cris Eash and Lucas Wolfe with single victories going to Todd Hestor, Doug Esh, Brook Weibley, Keith Kauffman, Don Kreitz, Danny Lasoski and Mike Walter. The results show that 27 features have been run with thirteen different winners.
Many others have been close with 33 different drivers recording at least one top- five finish at Williams Grove this year.  In the limited division ten features have been run with six different drivers visiting victory lane led by Chad Layton with three
wins.
Time trials will be used to set the sprint lineups on September 24 so the Grove regulars can practice their setups for the Cleveland Brothers National Open sanctioned by the World of Outlaws on October 1-2.
The super sportsman cars will make their final appearance of the season when they join the sprint cars on September 24.  Some reserved seats for the National Open remain and telephone orders are accepted at 717.697.5000.
CURTIS NICHOLS wheeled to victory in a close battle over Keith Bissinger in the 200-lap Enduro Championship at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night. Nichols took home $2500 for driving his 1981 Chevrolet Monte Carolo to victory in a race that featured 17 LEAD CHANGES.
BIG DIAMOND RACEWAY closed our their stock car racing season on Friday night with Jason Hamilton driving to victory in the Hoover Chevrolet/GM Performance Parts 50 for Sportsman-Modifieds. The win was worth $2,000 to the Erwinna, PA racer.

DeSantis did win the Cheers Tavern Cash Dash worth $1,000. And the Schaeffer Motorsports Minuteman 20 went to Jason Hamilton and the win earned him a starting spot in the Freedom 76 and a $1100 shock package from Penske Shocks in Reading, PA.  Open competition Modified and Late Model stock car racing will be the featured attraction for the next two Saturdays, September 18th and 25th, starting at 7 p.m. These events often attract a number of outsiders to test their skills against the track regulars. And there are many regulars who use these events to test some “ideas” they have for use in the 2005 point events.
SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY offers the 2004 Susquehanna Valley 410 Sprint Series finale on Saturday, September 18th. The Alexander Family Dealerships 22nd Annual National Open for 410 sprint cars will be presented. Time trials begin at 7 p.m. and the program is topped by a 30-lap feature that will offer $7,500 to the winner.
The event is sponsored by the Alexander family of car dealerships based in Sunbury, PA  Fred Rahmer, who has 30 career wins at Selinsgrove, is a favorite to win the event. He is also the point leader as the Series heads into its final event. Rain date is the very next day following the same schedule.
CLINTON COUNTY SPEEDWAY had Blaine Heimbach winning the 358 Sprint Car Nationals featuring the non-sanctioned 358 sprints against the KARS sprint car organization racers. Only 23 racers showed up for the event. Heimbach started on the outside of the front row and apparently lead all the laps in winning the race and a big paycheck.
AY Schilling won the Late Model feature while Gov Yearick took the Pro Stock main event and the 4 Cylinder Enduro feature fell victim to curfew.
The sprints, late models, pro stocks and 4 cylinder enduro cars will be back on Friday, September 17th with racing starting at 7:30 p.m.
